The Best Herbal Teas for Energy and for Sleep
This is a short post on herbal teas that kick butt when it comes to energy, and then the best that I found to wind down at nights and grab a hatful of actual real, restful refreshing and rejuvenating sleep.
Some folks tend to feel that, since it’s herbal, natural, it can’t possibly be very effective.
Well, Squeeze Me kind Sirs and the Ladies, but I beg to differ!

The right Tea can KICK BUTT!!!
There’s some powerful substances out there in nature, very powerful indeed.
For instance, there’s poisons that can kill a man (or woman, let’s be equal and politically correct here shall we) in seconds. Pretty effective I should say?
Read on, if you dare…Mwuahahahahhahaaaaaaa…
Same goes for beneficial substances.
One herbal drink, albeit no tea, that kicks butt around the globe every morning would be …coffee! Take too much of the stuff and you’ll be buzzing so hard, your neighbors’ windows are rattling.
Then there’s Ephedra tea…need I say more? Ephedra containing supplements have been banned by the FDA, and for good reason: it’s so strong that it can be unsafe for those with high blood pressure and other cardiovascular problems.
Not effective? My a.
As a matter of fact, there are so many medicinal herbs that work, well let’s just say we’ll keep this post short.
And a herbal tea is basically medicinal herbs dissolved in hot water, after all. By that definition coffee actually makes the list, as well.
Green Tea doesn’t exactly kick backside, BUT it’s one of the healthiest things out there on the planet so I want to mention it anyways.
What I do is, have my organic coffee first thing in the morning and until early afternoon (not too much later than that, or elseways it can screw with your sleep, and we don’t want that!), then the green tea takes over.
Green tea has caffeine, yes, but not nearly as much, and it provides much more of a calm energy, because of the theanine content.
Speaking of which, here are my tip-top favorites for great, superb, unbelievable sleep:
1. Feverfew
2. Lactuca Virosa
3. My Fav Herbal Sleep Tea Blend, containing:
Yarrow, birch leaves, bilberry, angelica. Works better than anything I’ve had thus far.
What I do at the moment is I take a cup of this tea right before bed time, together with 2 caps of organic feverfew. Works like a charm. Sleep like a baby (that sleeps real well).
Summary:
There’s a kazillion other herbals that are good for energy, like Thyme, Rosemary, Ginseng, Holy Bazil, Rhodiola Rosea, etc, or for sleep, like Reishi Mushroom, Melissa, Valerian, and-so-on, but I wanted to share my personal favorites, and those that I find are pretty much amongst the most powerful and effective.
So for Energy:
- Coffee (yeah yeah I know, I know!)
- Ephedra Tea
- Green Tea
For Sleep:
- Fever Few
- Lactuca Virosa (wild lettuce)
- The Sleep Blend (yarrow, birch leaves, bilberry, angelica)
That’s all’yall.

Thanks, Mark. My wife will definitely be interested in these different types of teas and their benefits, she’s into that sort of thing – me, think I’ll just stick to my coffee.
Hey thanks Kev!
I believe the sleep formula might be beneficial for you as well though…they’re also real good for your health, you know?
I have tried many of these and could not agree more brother!
Herbs are very powerful!
I always wonder at all the science we have lost throughout the thousands of years, imagine the herbal knowledge that has been forgotten…

True words Brother!
I think a lot of that ancient knowledge can still be found in traditional herbal names and folk remedies…
It’s just a question of separating fact from fiction…
Yeah just finished my cuppa!
Maybe I should just change the name of this blog to “The Coffee and Food Lover’s Get Together”, LOL!
You can’t go wrong with green tea. The antioxidants are a God send when it comes down to health. I would also prefer drinking that tea for better sleep than have to rely on counting sheep…
