Healthy Foods to Lose Weight
In this post we will look at some Healthy Foods to Lose Weight …
But first the story…
“There’s a problem with your credit card, sir!”
I swear this happened to me the other day at the grocery store:
The lady at the check-out counter seemed to have some objections to my card. ”What’s wrong, ma’am?” I said.
She replied: “That’s not you on the photo!”
Niiiice… “Well, thank you for the compliment!” I looked at my picture, for the first time properly in years.
Wow! Incredible, the difference! I really couldn’t blame her. My face was that of a bulldog, with hanging jowls and all. Would I not have known better, I would have thought some “photo-shop” had been applied here …
Well, that’s only one pleasant side-effects of a dramatic body-transformation: you look great! Younger, more attractive, sharp, successful.
And not only that, I also feel the difference! My energy-levels haven’t been this high since my twenties, I’m light on my feet, can’t wait to be up and doing in the morning.
My muscularity is at an all time peak, I have a proper six-pack, flat, square pecs, that Calvin Klein body…
Now before you think I’m just showing off, I want you to know there is a good reason for telling my story here. Because you can have the same. You can experience the same: better looks, fantastic health, feeling good about yourself and your body.
All of this is within reach, for anyone who decides to grasp it!
What you need is not some miracle pill or diet. You want down to earth, real life info on how to achieve leanness, how to finally drop those pounds, how to burn fat in the most effective, fastest and sustainable way. A realistic approach.
Well, you got it. Let’s get started , and we start at the beginning.
Healthy Foods to Lose Weight
We have been brought up on the wrong foods, and on the wrong amounts of food. That’s not our parents fault, that’s just the way things were back then. This produces the confusion you can see everywhere today: people don’t know what to eat, or how much of it. Your local grocery store with its product-range does not exactly help there, either.
Instead of healthy foods to lose weight, pretty much everything on offer there is made of sugar: one form (candy and soft drinks) or another (refined starches and grains).
So what you get is unhealthy foods to gain weight!
The result of all this is an obesity epidemic: flubber and blubber where you turn, low energy levels, unnecessary disease, metabolic syndrome, diabetes, early death. Overly dramatic? I don’t think so.
But all’s not lost, we can turn this whole thing back around …
Enter healthy foods to lose weight …
So now we’re used to eating all this high-sugar, processed stuff, and plenty of it. Surely you have heard of this before: Fruit and Vegetables are the way to go … OK, fine, but how to get the hang of that? How to switch a lifelong habit in a day?
That’s right, it’s not so easy: a habit can be a powerful thing.
I suggest a step-approach, a structured way to get used to natural healthy foods once more.
After all: if our ancestors could do it, so can we!
Healthy Foods to Lose Weight: Fruit
Try this: have a day of only fruit, any unprocessed fruit, whatever takes your fancy.
|
Healthy Foods to Lose Weight: Veggies
Then follow this with a day of only vegetables, as unprocessed as possible:Broccoli, cauliflower, beans, lentils, corn on the cob, peas, cabbage, sweet potatoes, tomatoes, the list goes on.
Healthy Foods to Lose Weight: Protein
On the third day, you might try protein only:Scrambled eggs, fresh mozzarella cheese, Greek yogurt, fish, milk.
Healthy Foods to Lose Weight: Nuts and Whole Grains
Day four could be nuts and healthy whole grains:Oats and barley come to mind for porridge, muesli, bread. In the nuts-department I would suggest almonds, walnuts, Brazil nuts, peanuts, cashews, hazelnuts and company. How about a trail-mix: a nuts and dried-fruit blend.
Now you‘ve had four days of isolated, pretty unprocessed foods, similar to what has been available in them golden olden days. Different, for sure! And also very tasty, nourishing and healthy.
Healthy Foods to Lose Weight: putting it all together
The next step would be to start combining these healthy foods, for exampleScrambled eggs with broccoli and cheese, or
Greek yogurt with almond butter and an apple, or
Barley Porridge with a diced orange and a small yogurt.
You get the idea: to re-introduce unprocessed foods back into your diet in a step by step, structured approach.
A quick recap:
You can of course keep up some “isolated days”, where you have only one of these foods, like fruit or vegetables. Then you might have a day of fruit and vegetables together. The variety is limitless, the different foods mind-bogglingly delicious.
This of course is only one sample approach, please feel free to experiment to your heart’s delight!
The only “rule”, as it were, would be: keep it natural and unprocessed most of the time.
So oranges are in, orange juice is pretty much out.
Tomato salad is in, ketchup is out.
You’ll get the hang of it.
The one thing is for sure: if you try those healthy foods to lose weight, you’ll see results in many areas of your life!
Good Luck,
Mark
